Fort Macleod RCMP issue reminder about the dangers of strangers after incident

The Fort Macleod RCMP would like to remind the parents of children and young adults of the dangers of strangers. Parents are being asked to discuss with their children what to do in the event that a stranger would approach them. Many resources of discussion can be found on the internet, at your local schools and at your local police detachment.

On the afternoon of April 11, 2013 a Caucasian male between the ages of forty to fifty years old approached a nineteen year old female within the Town of Fort Macleod, Alberta. The male asked the woman multiple times if she required a ride and she replied no and then walked away. The male did not exit the vehicle and after following the young woman for a short distance then drove off. The vehicle was described as a white extended cab truck.

The young woman was not able to provide any further description of the male or the vehicle he was driving.

No further incidents of this nature were reported to the RCMP on April 11, 2013 or to present date.

The Fort Macleod RCMP is asking the public if a situation does arise to please report it immediately to the Fort Macleod RCMP detachment at 403-553-7200 or share their information with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
