Pincher Creek's Crestview Lodge held their annual Volunteer Appreciation Tea on Tuesday, April 23.   Pincher Creek Foundation CAO/Facility Manager Millie Loeffler and Activity Coordinator Cathy Klein were enthusiastic about the large turnout for the event.  "We are very fortunate to have so many to thank," said Loeffler.  They pointed out that it was volunteer appreciation week both provincially and across Canada.

The theme for this years party was "Crestview Lodge Volunteers are Angels".  Each volunteer was given a goodie bag that included hand-made goodies donated from the staff and residents to show their deep appreciation for the people that help to make their days better, brighter, and easier.

A game was played called "Have you ever...".   Points were scored every time a person answered 'yes' to questions like 'Have you ever put something in the fridge that didn't belong there?'  The questions had people giggling and enjoying telling anecdotes at their tables.

The highlight of the event was the appearance of  "Bobbie Vinton and the Crestview Creampuffs"  lip syncing "You are my Special Angel", and many people in the crowd enjoyed singing along.

Each volunteer was given a door prize ticket when they entered.  Later in the day staff drew for a number  of potted flowers.

Three of the door prize winners were Margie Laatsch, Dolly Toney, and Peter Griffths.  Laatch calls bingo and helps on trips and Toney helps with crafts.  Both ladies said that they like to help wherever they are needed at the Lodge.  Griffiths comes in once a month to entertain musically.

After the entertainment refreshments and snacks were served by the Crestview staff.
