Pincher Creek Curling Club to receive $30,300 funding from Feds for upgrades

According to a press release issued by Macleod MP Ted Menzies today, Pincher Creek Curling Club is one of the recipients sharing a total of $310,000 in funding that is being awarded to six community infrastructure projects across the Macleod constituency under the Federal Government's Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).


Upgrades for the Pincher Creek Curling Club are expected to total $60,600, of which the CIIF fund will pay half, $30,300.

Menzies announced  the funding on behalf of the Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification.

“Our Government is proud to invest in communities across Alberta,” said Minister Menzies as quoted from the press release.. “Not only do these recreational facilities provide residents with important programming and services that contribute to healthier and more vibrant communities, but they help to create jobs, growth and economic prosperity.”

Other projects include the Lomond Community Multi-Purpose Facility ($12,812 in Federal funding), and the Priddis Community Association Society ($39,806 in Federal funding).

The Fort Macleod and District Agricultural Society will receive $49,300 in Federal funding towards an expected $98,600 bill for Midnight Stadium Arena and Barn Upgrades. The Springbank Park For All Seasons Agricultural Society will receive  $62,500 in Federal funding towards Calgary Joe Phillips Arena Upgrades, with a total price of $125,000.  The Stavely and District Agricultural Society will receive $115,300 towards the projected $230,600 cost of upgrades to the Stavely Arena.
