Lethbridge College leaving Pincher Creek, Adult Learning continues

Toni Lucas, Pincher Creek Voice

On  March 19 Lethbridge College announced the closure of 2 of its 5 rural campuses,  the Fort Macleod and Pincher Creek campuses.

Current students will be able to complete any courses they are currently enrolled in at these two campuses but the college is no longer accepting registration for new courses at those campuses.

The Pincher Creek campus will be closed after June.

Pincher Creek Community Adult Learning Council will be continuing to run their Pincher Creek learning facility.

"Everything will be business as usual, although there will be some staffing changes," said Adult Learning and Literacy Coordinator Monica Sczyrba-Davis. "It will be a bit of restructuring."

"I want to be able to offer a space that will have computer service," she said, explaining that supervision for exams will continue.  The campus is usually closed during July and August, and the staff are aiming at having the Pincher Creek Adult Learning Programs ready to go again  in the fall.
