Athlete of the day March 28, 2013: Lexi Yellowhorn

Lexi Yellowhorn

Lexi Yellowhorn is also an athlete who demonstrates "never give up spirit." She is one of the smaller athletes in her Barracuda Judo Club class, but that doesn't stop her from working with boys and girls much bigger than her. In December, she travelled to Calgary to meet Canadian Olympic bronze medallist Antoine Valois-Fortier and attended a training session he led. Lexi currently holds a yellow belt.

Lexi is in Grade 3 at Napi's Playground, and is in her first year of Judo.  She also enjoys soccer, going to the park, and painting.

She said her favourite part of judo is "The throws".
