St. Michael's A Boys Dragons hosted Kainai on Tuesday evening, February 12 for a very close basketball game.
Kyle Knowlton of the Dragons had a great first quarter, scoring 6 points, helping his team to a 14-6 lead over Kainai in the first quarter. Kainai's DJ Crowchief scored 6 points in the second quarter, helping his team outscore the Dragons 10-5 in the second quarter. At the half the score was 19-16 in the Dragons' favour.
In the third quarter Kainai was again quite strong, tying it up 19-19 early in the quarter. They started to make their long-shots, which had been near misses earlier in the game, and at the end of the quarter they had a 1 point lead over the Dragons, 26-25.
The Dragons reclaimed their turf in the final quarter. Aiden Smith of the Dragons had a good quarter, scoring 6 points, and the team changed their strategy to counter the Kainai long-shots. This one was a battle to the end, with the Dragons ultimately winning it 39-35.
Top scorers for the Dragons were Aiden Smith and Mitchell Zoratti with 10 points each, and Kyle Knowlton with 9 points.
The Junior A Dragons also hosted Piikani the next day. Piikani won that game by 1 point, a foul shot at the very end of the game deciding it.
B Boys: WCCHS Cobras defeat St. Michael's Dragons

Top scorers for the Dragons were Dexter Obrique with 6 points and Jordan Hochstein with 4 points.
Top scorers for the Cobras were Nic Harder with 14 points, Tyler Roland with 8 points, and Rhys Sadownyck and Ross VanRootselaar with 6 points each.
B Boys: Hawks vs TMS
The Halton Hawks B Boys hosted TMS (Kainai) on the evening of February 12. Kainai dominated the game, winning it 66-10.
A Boys: Hawks vs FPW
The Halton Hawks A Boys hosted F.P. Walshe on the the evening of February 12. F.P. Walshe won the game by an (approximate) score of 45-35.
