“Artist As Meaning Maker” A workshop with Karen Tamminga-Paton will be held at the Lebel Mansion Art Studio in Pincher Creek on February 8 and 9.

Karen is both a high school art teacher and a painter. Over the years she has developed strategies to encourage even the most reluctant artist. She believes we are hard-wired to be creative, and that we are most healthy when we live creative lives. Karen believes everyone has a story to tell. The arts can be a powerful tool in the telling – and in the questioning – of our lives.

This workshop is for both ends of the spectrum, from newbie to experienced. Participants will look at why we create art and how to get past the ‘blank canvas’ syndrome.

Karen says you don't have to bring supplies, as she has a sizeable hoard amassed from gifts people have given.
