Missing Grande Prairie teens found

Update February 4 2013: The Grande Prairie RCMP would like to advise that they have located Shawn Viens. The RCMP would like to thank the public and the media for their help in locating this individual.

Update January 29, 2013: Grande Prairie RCMP would like to advise the public that 15 year old Daryn Middleton , who had been missing since January 16, 2013 has been located and has been in contact with his family.
Police would like to thank the media and the public, for their assistance in locating Middleton.

Missing 15 Year Old Male (Shawn VIENS)

The Grande Prairie RCMP are asking for the public's assistance to locate a 15 year old male who has been missing since January 19.  It is thought he might be in the company of Daryn Middleton who is also missing.

On January 19, Shawn Viens was reported missing to the RCMP.  Shawn is reported to have run away after a family dispute.  Shawn has ben a runaway before but has failed to return in this instance and his family and the police are very concerned about where he is.

It has been learned through the police investigation that Shawn is known to Daryn Middleton who is has also been reported missing to police.  It is possible that they might be together.

It is important that both boys be located and speak with police.

Shawn is described as white 5 feet 6 inches tall, 160 lbs, brown hair, brown eyes (photo attached).  Shawn was last seen wearing large white head phones, red jacket, red hat, blue & black jogging pants and red & black high top shoes.

This is the third media report regarding a missing youth in the last number of days.

Police are asking that young people think about their actions, especially before running away.  Police encourage young people to consider the impact that suddenly leaving has on their family.

If circumstances are unsafe or dangerous in your home there are still many options and agencies in our community to help you in your situation.

The RCMP take missing person reports very seriously and go to great lengths to locate people who are reported as missing, especially youths.
