A win and a loss against Crowsnest basketball teams for Senior Hawks

The Senior Girls and Boys Hawks basketball teams played their Crowsnest Pass counterparts on Monday evening, December 17, at Crowsnest Consolidated High School.


Girls

The contest between the Sr. Girls Halton Hawks and the CNP Pandas was a back and forth game with neither team holding a lead for very long. The Pandas jumped out quick going up 14 to 6 after 1 quarter.  In the second quarter the Hawks battled back to tie it up 18-18 going into the half.  The second half was much of the same with the Hawks pulling away, but the Pandas would battle back to tie it up.

With the game tied at 48 apiece the Hawks had the ball with 9 seconds left and Alyssa Barbero drained a 16 foot jump shot to give the Hawks the lead, and that was enough as the Pandas were unable to answer back.

Final score: Hawks 50 - Pandas 48

Boys

The Sr. Panthers boys were just to much for the Hawks, as they were able to get a quick lead on them and slowly continued to lengthen their lead as the game went on.  The first quarter saw the Panthers jump out to a 20 - 8 lead, which moved to a 33 to 20 lead at the half. By the end of the game the Panthers had secured a convincing victory.

Final score: Panthers 79 - Hawks 47
