Injury Motor vehicle collision south of Lethbridge

On December 16, 2012 at approximately 5:15 pm, Lethbridge RCMP, along with the Lethbridge Integrated Traffic Unit, and Lethbridge Fire and EMS, all responded to a two vehicle head on collision on Highway 5, 6 km south of Lethbridge, near Walter's Coulee. The collision caused traffic delays for approximately an hour and a half.

A passenger car traveling northbound crossed the center line, colliding with a southbound pickup truck.

Three 17 year old males from Raymond, who had been traveling in the car, were taken to hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries.

The occupants of the pickup truck, a 60 year old man and 57 year old woman from Cardston, were also taken to hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the collision.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this case.
The cause of this collision is still under investigation.
