Hockey shorts December 3, 2012
Pincher Creek Hockey Association President Wendy Kay reports 100% compliance with completing the mandatory Respect in Sports program has been achieved by parents and guardians of local hockey players.
Pincher Creek Voice guy Chris Davis reports that winning the gambling thing (the one with the little squares) at last week's Bantam tournament was a nice way to start a day.
Peewee Thunder
The CNP Peewee Thunder were defeated 4-3 by the Foremost/Bow Island Rebel Flyers on Saturday, December 1. Player of the game for the Thunder was #13 Cameron Little.
On Sunday, December 2 they defeated the same Rebel Flyers team by a score of 7-0. Thunder #4 Tavin Evans was named Player of the Game for that one.
Bantam Bisons
The Foothills Bantam AA Bisons played the Lacombe Rockets on Bisons home ice in Nanton on Deember 1. The Bisons won by a score of 5-2. Bisons Player of the Game was #5 Blake Wells. On December 2 they played the Taber Golden Suns on home ice in Stavely, winning that game by a score of 5-3. Bisons Player of the Game was #17 Sean de Visser.
On the road
The Novice B Chinooks won their away game against Taber on December 1 by a score of 10-9, their third win in a row. They are currently ranked 4th in their division, with only "A" teams ahead of them, of a total 12 teams. They have a home game scheduled against Raymond on Saturday, December 15 at 11:00 am.
The Atom 1 Chinooks lost by a wide margin to Coaldale on December 2. They're scheduled to be back at home on Saturday, December 15 at 3:15 pm to host Vauxhall.
The Bantam Chinooks tied 4-4 with Lethbridge 4 at the Adams Ice Centre on Friday, November 30. They won 7-3 after a reportedly rough game against Lethbridge 3 the next day, also at the Adams Ice Centre. They have another away game scheduled against Kainai on Saturday, December 8 at 3:00 pm. The Bantam Chinooks are in second place in the Spud League standings, just behind Coaldale.
