Emergency Services responds to barn fire

Chris Davis, Pincher Creek Voice

Emergency Services were called to a barn on fire in the Summerview area early Monday morning, November 12 after local RCMP noticed the conflagration.  Pincher Creek responded with an engine, a tender, and an ambulance.  Peigan Fire responded with an engine and a tender.   According to Pincher Creek Fire Chief Dave Cox the barn was almost completely destroyed by the time Emergency Services arrived on location.  Fire crews worked to save two nearby granaries that were involved and protected exposures, including a fence that had also caught fire.

The barn was used for small specialty animals, including rabbits, ducks, chicken, and geese, who were all unfortunately lost to the fire.  The granaries were also damaged.
