Athlete of the day, November 1, 2012: Cooper Zur

Cooper Zur

Cowboy Cooper Zur lives in the Willow Valley area, and is a Grade 10 student at Livingstone School in Lundbreck.

Cooper was the Season Leader and Finals Champion in Steer Riding at the Chinook Rodeo Finals held in Picture Butte on October 19-21.  He placed second in the Junior Bulls at that rodeo as well.  In addition to being in the money to the tune of $1100, he also earned himself a saddle and a buckle for his efforts.

At the Foothills Cowboy Association Finals held in Red Deer on October 5-7 he was the Season Leader and Champion in Boys Steer Riding after winning three rounds and placing second in the last round.  He earned some nice money, $1600, a saddle, and a buckle for that effort as well.

Cooper is also a member of the Timber Trails 4-H Beef Club.
