On the evening of Monday, October 15 the Halton Hawks JV and Senior Girls hosted the Livingstone Sabres and the St. Michael's Dragons JV and Senior Girls hosted the Crowsnest Pass Pandas.

The Sabres JV squad won the first set against the Hawks by 25-17.  In the second set the Hawks more than made that back, winning by a score of 25-12.  With both teams playing full out in the third set, it could have gone either way, but the Sabres persevered to take it by 25-19, winning the game.  Both teams played despite being disqualified due to having too few eligible players for JV status.

The Senior Sabres dominated all three sets against the Hawks, despite a valiant effort by the Halton team.  The Sabres won the first set 25-16, the second 25-11, and the third 25-12.  A disheartening evening for the Hawks, who showed a lot of heart and teamwork out there against a team that has been burning up the courts this season.

Senior Dragons vs Pandas
Over at St. Michael's School the JV Dragons lost their first two sets against the Pandas by wide margins, including a 25-5 loss in the second set. The Dragons picked up their socks in the third set, winning that one by 25-9.

The Senior Pandas won the first set against the Dragons 25-22, after a series of great volleys.  From then on it was Dragons all the way, as they won the last three sets by 25-16, 25-16, and 25-15.  One of the key factors in their victory was a successful serve ratio.  The Dragons have also improved at communicating with each other, which stood them in good stead once they pulled their game together.
