Local ranchers receive Century Farm and Ranch award

and Helen Cyr

Clarence and Helen Cyr and Sons received an Alberta Century Farm & Ranch Award to recognize them for over 100 Years of family ranching on the original Cyr homestead, from 1910 to 2012.

The award was presented to Helen Cyr by Environment and Sustainable Resource Development (ESRD) Minister Diana McQueen on August 30 during a meeting the MD Council had with the minister in Pincher Creek.  Helen Cyr is also the Municipal District of Pincher Creek No. 9 Division 1 Councillor.

Cyr said "It just arrived at the MD office the same day that Minister McQueen did, so it was an honour to have her present it to me!"
