Emergency Services respond to fire and alarms, fundraiser car wash planned

Grass fire north of Oldman Dam
On Thursday August 23, engines responded from both Cowley and Pincher Creek Fire Services to a grass fire north of the Oldman Dam. Local ranchers had stopped the forward spread of a fire that ran in a ditch for approximately 15 metres.
Faulty electrical cord caused alarm
At noon on Thursday August 23, Pincher Creek Emergency Services responded to an alarm at a residence in town, which proved to be caused by a malfunctioning extension cord that caused smoke.
Alarm at Livingstone School
On Friday morning August 24 alarms went off at Livingstone School in Lundbreck. The cause of the alarm remains undetermined, but it may have been related to thunderstorms in the area.
Going to the carwash, yeah
Fire Chief Dave Cox invites everyone down to Kajay Automotive (1009 Waterton Avenue, Pincher Creek) on Saturday, August 25. Kajay will be holding a car wash and cooking dogs and burgers with the proceeds to benefit Pincher Creek Emergency Services.
