Arson suspected in two early morning fires
Chris Davis, Pincher Creek Voice
Pincher Creek Fire responded to a fire in a swathed canola field east of town at approximately 6 am this morning, August 30. When that fire was almost extinguished, another was spotted in the grass of a nearby road allowance. Peigan fire assisted in dousing that one.
According to Pincher Creek Fire Chief Dave Cox, both fires were easily managed because of the time of day and the slow burn rate due to humid conditions.
Fire Chief Cox asks that the public "keep your eyes open", because both fires are suspected to have been set deliberately.
The Fire Commissioner's Office and the RCMP are assisting with the investigation into both incidents.
