RCMP Piikani Nation Alberta Check Stop July 13 and 14

On Friday July 13th and Saturday July 14th, Piikani Nation and Pincher Creek RCMP members conducted several "Check Stops" on highway #3 near the communities of Brocket and Pincher Creek. Many of the motorists were surprised to see the RCMP conducting a Check Stop this time of year. 

Over two hundred vehicles passed through the check stops over the course of the two evenings.

During the course of the check stops, one person was charged for impaired operation of a motor vehicle, one person was issued a 24 hour license suspension, one person was charged for driving with an expired drivers license, and one person was charged for operating a motor vehicle without supervision as they only had a learner drivers license.

A reminder is given to motorists that "Check Stops" are held throughout the year.
