The celebration will be centred next to the Heritage Centre in downtown Waterton. All activities are free, but regular admission prices to the Park are in effect.
Starting at 1 pm, visitors can enjoy free cake and lemonade. There will also be a special performance called "It's a Warden's Life in Song and Poetry" at 1 pm, 3 pm, and 5 pm. Throughout the afternoon, visitors can participate in a variety of activities and demonstrations, including our popular GeoFreakZ GeoTrails activity. Families can also pick up a copy of the park’s new Xplorers activity book. There are also guided hikes and theatre programs. All activities are free with the park entry fee.
Parks Canada protects 167 national historic sites, 42 national parks and 4 national marine conservation areas. These places comprise one of the world’s largest networks of heritage sites. Every summer, we celebrate Parks Day by showcasing the contribution that they make to healthy and diverse ecosystems and making Canada’s history come alive.
