Community Foundation accepting grant applications

Fall 2012 Community Impact Grant Applications Being Accepted until September 14

The Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta is now accepting grant applications for the Fall 2012 Community Impact Grants period. The application period will remain open until Friday, September 14 at 4:00 pm.

Organizations must be registered with the Canada Revenue Agency, be in association with a municipality, or a school district. Grant applications, as well as more information on eligibility and funding criteria, can be found on the Community Foundation website (www.cflsa.ca). The Community Foundation staff is also available to assist organizations with their grant applications at 403-328-5297.

With two granting cycles per year, the Community Foundation focuses on awarding grants in four key areas: Arts and Culture, Basic Needs, Community Vitality, and Healthy Living. Already, in 2012, 26
Community Impact Grants totalling $134.000 were awarded to deserving organizations in southwestern Alberta (our territory stretches from the U.S. border north to Nanton and from the B.C. border east to Grassy Lake).

“The funding for our Community Impact Grants is generated from the investment income of permanent endowments established by generous donors.” said Barb Cavers, Board President. “This granting program allows the Foundation to identify and support a wide range of community projects and to truly make a difference in southwestern Alberta.”
