Brocket’s Indian Days is coming up
Pow-wow to be held Friday, August 3 to Sunday, August 5 at the Piikani Arbour.
Spiritriver Striped Wolf, Pincher Creek Voice
Most reserves have an annual summer Pow-wow event usually called the “Indian Days”. This event is usually the most popular event of the year because people from all over come for the Pow-wow competition, to visit with family, or maybe they’re just Pow-wow enthusiasts.
Anyone and everyone are welcome to these events. It runs on the first weekend of August from Friday, August 3 to Sunday, August 5. There are stands galore, selling stuff from glow-in-the-dark merchandise, to very pretty native jewellery, to that very good but very bad for you fair food. So if you would like to witness this big event and get your fill of cotton candy, I’ll see you there!
This will be taking place at the new arbour on the Piikani Reserve.
If you have any questions about this event, you can contact me by email at spiritriver.knowlton@facebook.com. I may not have all the answers, but I will try my best in finding them for you.
