After helping secure the Pincher Creek Senior Mustangs their historic Division B championship last year, Defensive Tackle Alex Shade has joined the Canadian Junior Football League's Calgary Colts.

"I've been focusing on training," Shade said.  " I went to all the practices. We start on July 20th for Camp, that's when we start our season basically.  I'm looking forward to that."

Shade said his biggest challenge will be moving away from home.  He will be taking International Indigenous Studies at the University of Calgary.

Shade was one of the Linesmen of the Year for the Senior Mustangs last season, and is also a member of the Piikani White Feather Drum Group.

The Calgary Colts call McMahon Stadium home and compete for the annual Canadian Bowl in the six-team Prairie Football Conference.
