4 teams are competing in the U18 tournament, which continues through Saturday at Sproule Field in Pincher Creek.  Participating is Pincher Creek, Elkford, Fort Macleod, and two teams from Sparwood.

In their first game of the tournament, Pincher Creek's top-ranked U18 soccer team defeated Fort Macleod 3-1.  Pincher Creek's assertive style of play once again worked well for them.  Pincher Creek kept the pressure turned up high in the Fort Macleod end but didn't manage to make good on multiple opportunities. Jared Pittman scored two of the three Pincher Creek goals.  U18 Coach Jim Lamb called it an "entertaining game", saying "Fort Macleod came to play and played hard."

According to Coach Lamb, the team had some really good chances in the second half of the game against Fort Macleod, and he expressed optimism that given the same level of opportinity the team would likely be able to capitalize on those chances more often during their next two games.

Pincher Creek U18 is scheduled to play two games today, Saturday, June 16, the first at 11:30 am and the second at 2 pm, both games to be held at Sproule Field.  This will be the last time this group of athletes gets to demonstrate their exemplary soccer skills together, making this a 'don't miss' event for local sports fans.

Pincher Creek's U-14 soccer team took to the Town field behind the pool to kick off their soccer tournament with a game against Fort Macleod. Fort MacLeod handled the ball well, often getting it to the Pincher Creek endzone, but had trouble getting it past Pincher Creek goalie Marcel Leveque, who made some outstanding saves during the game. The final score was Pincher Creek 4, Fort Macleod 1.

The U14 soccer tournament is being held at the Matthew Halton field and the Town field behind the pool throughout today, Saturday, June 16.
