Take back the tap during Environment Week 2012
Events across Alberta promote environmental stewardship
Celebrate Environment Week from June 3 to 9 by taking simple steps to reduce your environmental footprint. This year’s theme “take back the tap” highlights that individual actions, like drinking from reusable water bottles, can add up to make a big difference.
Albertans of all ages can get involved by attending one of many community Green Stop events held across the province. From family fun days to nature walks to solar home tours, Green Stops are a great opportunity to learn more about sustaining our environment.
Go green year-round by committing to One Simple Act. The online toolkit provides everyday tips to prevent waste, conserve water and reduce energy consumption. Sign up online at www.onesimpleact.ca and follow on Facebook and Twitter.
Environment Week has been celebrated in Alberta and across Canada since 1972 as a way to help preserve, protect and restore our environment. It is held annually during the first week of June to align with the United Nations World Environment Day on June 5.
