On Saturday June 16, 2012, Pincher Creek's U18 Soccer team wrapped up its final U18 Soccer Tournament, which they hosted at Sproule Field over the course of Friday and Saturday.  They won all three of their games and the Gold medal.

There were no play-off games in this tournament. Instead, standings were determined by the points that each team made in regulation play. Fort Macleod won Silver with 1 shut-out win, 1 loss, and 1 tie, while the Bronze medal went to Sparwood with 1 win, one loss, and 1 tie.

The home team was quite confident by the time of their final game versus Elkford, scoring both of their goals in the first half, and spending the second half moving the ball between them. Goaltender Jesse McKenna made several good saves that helped keep them ahead of their opposition, while Jasper Woodard’s ball-handling and leadership kept their opponents from lining up good shots.

“I haven’t had a problem with any of the teams in Pincher. They’re all really good teams, good kids to coach” said Pincher Creek coach Jim Lamb “They have a lot of fun. They know it’s a short season, so they just go out and enjoy it, and that’s what it’s all about.”

Congratulations to our U18 soccer players on a great end to a good season, and good luck to all of them wherever they go in the future.
