Junior High Track and Field Districts results 2012

The South West Junior High Athletic Association (SWJHAA) held their annual Districts Track and Field tournament at St. Michael's School field on Wednesday, May 30.  Skies were sunny and the wind was blowing, spirits were high and a festive atmosphere was evident.

After the break there are some highlights of the results relating to our local schools and more photos, followed by a complete listing of the official results.

Livingstone School

• Tisha Moulsen came in first in the Girls 15-16 long jump. 
• Rebecca Lowry came in first in 14 Year Old Girls discus and javelin, second in the shot put, and third in the 3000m run.
• Contessa Penner of Livingstone School came in second in the Bantam Girls high jump.  The team of Hannah Penner, Katie Bramer, Tisha Moulson, and Abby Zur came in third in the Girls 15-16 4x100m relay.

St. Michael's School

• Justine Jorgenson came in first in the 14 Year Old 100m dash and the triple jump, and third in the long jump.
• Bruce Kirby came in first in the Boys 13 and Under triple jump, second in the 100m dash, and third in the long jump.
• Matthew Alexander came second in the Boys 15-16 1500m run and in the 100m hurdles.  Michael Svab came in second in the Boys 13 and Under triple jump.  Cole Gerber came in third in the 14 Year Olds high jump.

Piikani School

• Madison Yellow Horn came in second in the Girls 15-16 high jump and third in the discus

Matthew Halton School

• Maia Jorgenson did extremely well in the 13 and Under category.  She took first place in 100m dash and a established a new record with 13.28, which she attained in the preliminary race.  She also won the 100m dash final, the 200m dash, and the Bantam Girls long jump. She came in 4th in the 80m hurdles, despite sustaining a wrist injury during the event.
• Claudia Higgenbotham came in first in the Girls 15-16 400m dash, the 800m run, the 1500m run, and the 80m hurdles. 
• The Matthew Halton Bantam Girls won the 4x100m relay with a team composed of Maia Jorgenson, Miranda Van Loon, Marissa Hagglund, and Mary Dietze.
• The team of Jaden Many Grey Horses, Taylor Wells, Maia Jorgenson, and Miranda Van Loon won the Girls 12-16 4x400m relay.
• Amber Sokownin came in first in the Girls 15-16 100m dash.  
• Hayden Varley came in first in the Boys 13 and Under discus and third in the shot put.
• Teigan Lissel came in first in the Boy 15-16 100m dash.
• Jack Dietze came in first in the Boys 15-16 800m run and second in the 400m dash.
• Colten Ball came in first in the Boys 15-16 100m hurdles.
• Lucky David came first in the Boys 15-16 1500m run and in the 3000m run, and took third in the Boys 15-16 800m run.
• Jaden Many Grey Horses came in first in the 14 yr old girls 800m run.  She came in second in the 1500m run.
• Vincent Sayer came in first in the Boys 13 and Under 800m run, first in the long jump, second in the high jump,  and second in the  400m dash.
• Craig Oliver came in first in the Boys 13 and Under 3000m run, and third in the 1500m run.
• Justin Albert came in first in the Boys 15-16 discus and second in the javelin.
• Austin Bruder came in second in the Boys 13 and Under shot put and in discus.  Samantha Cyr came in second in the 14 Year Olds 100 m dash.  Jayden Kennedy came in second in the 15-16 200m Dash.  Trinity Ratzloff came in first in the Girls 15-16 long jump.  Sunny Bruised Head came in second in the Girls 15-16 javelin.  Brenden Lissel came in second in the Boys 13 and Under 200m dash and third in the  100m dash.  Jack Mitchell came in second in the Boys 13 and Under 1500m run.  The team of Jack Mitchell, Stuart Lewis, Tyson Goodreau, and Brenden Lissel came in second in the Boys 13 and Under 4x100m relay.  Austin Kristjanson came in third in the Boys 13 and Under high jump.  Marcel Levesque came in third in the boys 14 year old discus throw.  Luke Lewis came in third in the Boys 14 Years Old javelin.  Sam Gerrand came in second in the Midget Boys 3000m run.  Jordan North Peigan came in third in the Midget Boys 1500m run.  Ben Riviere came in second in the 14 Year Olds 400m dash.  Wilfred North Peigan came in second in the Boys 15-16 discus.  Teigan Lissel came in third in the Boys 15-16 triple jump. Matthew Halton Boys 12-16 came in third in the 4x400 meter relay with a team composed of Vincent Sayer, Colten Ball, Sam Gerrand, and Jack Dietze.
