Out and About, May 25 - June 3, 2012

Chris Davis, Pincher Creek Voice

Hello there Pincher Creek.  Lotsa stuff happened this week, and lots of stuff going to happen soon.  We'll try and fill you in as best we can.  We're probably going to be a little while catching up.

^St. Michael’s Elementary Choir gave a wonderful performance of  "Herbie and the Good News Garden" on Thursday, May 31.  Story and video soon.

At rugby (and baseball, and hockey, and basketball, and volleyball, and figure skating, and track and field.

Oh yeah,
The Jr. High Districts Track and Field Meet, Wednesday afternoon, May 30.

There's a story in the works about that too.  In the meantime, a peek into the mayem, trauma, and a few other bits.

Maia Jorgenson
Earlier in the day two of our local Pincher Creek athletes sustained damaged wrists in the pole vault, held earlier in the day.

Maia Jorgenson injured her wrist in the hurdles .  She not only managed to continue with her pole vault attempt, taking 4th place in her division, she also broke a record in the 100m with a 13.28 time.  She also won the 200m and the Long Jump.  She's a mighty fine athlete we've seen putting in 100%  every time.

It too fell victim to the dreaded hurdles

If it's any help, hurdles were one of the banes of this reporter's athletic attempts in the way-back.

Mr. Randy Whitehead.
Mr. Randy Whitehead has stepped  up to it, and helps keep a lot of different games, often ball games, up in the air.  He does that in a big way, almost every day.  And then, when the dust settles he tells us the score.  Sometimes there's a LOT of scores.
