Del Allen Scholarship to be awarded annually

The outstanding achievements of D.A. Electric President and Co-founder Del Allen will be recognized at the University Faculty of Management's 25th Annual Scholarship Fundraising dinner, to be held Thursday, April 5, 6 pm at the Coast Lethbridge Hotel.

The Del Allen Scholarship will be awarded annually to a Faculty of Management student.  The scholarship has been established by the faculty through community support.

Del Allen was born on March 29 in Medicine Hat.  He grew up in Lethbridge, and as a teenager took his first job with a Porcupine Hills sawmill.

He started D.A. Electric in 1975 and was soon joined by his brother Don.  Don sold his share of the business back to Del, and Del's son Douglas became a partner and is now in charge of daily operations.

A more complete bio and a description of Del's numerous philanthropic contributions to his community can be found at this link (click here).

Tickets for the scholarship dinner are $125.00 and can be ordered at www.uleth.ca/conreg/scholarship_dinner or by calling 403-329-5181
