Devastation hit the reserve this month. Mothers and fathers held their children close the night of April 10th as Karson Many Guns – Yellow Horn had passed away at the age of 3. I had planned to write about the Youth Council Pow Wow which was on the following weekend, but it’s in our tradition that the community goes through a “four days of mourning” process where we postpone or otherwise cancel events such as Pow Wows out of respect for the family that are going through this hard time.
