Pincher Creek's Atom Chinooks hosted the Raymond Ice on February 18, 2012. The Chinooks got the edge on the Ice in the first period with two unanswered goals, the first by Chinooks' #30 Carl Tetachuk, assisted by #21 Josh Conley. For the next goal the two Chinooks front-men switched duties, with Conley getting the goal and Tetachuk the assist. These two have mastered the break-away double play.
Ice #68 Blake Gibb scored early in the second period, unassisted. That was answered shortly afterwards by Chinooks' #25 Taite Jessen, also scoring unassisted. The two teams battled to a draw for most of the remainder of the period, with Conley sinking another at the 3:49 mark, assisted this time by #9 Trinity Tanner.
Heading into the third, the Chinooks were ahead 4-1. Ice #27 Colton Helgerson scored off the first faceoff in the period, unassisted, bringing it to 4-2 and giving his team some hope. Chinooks #26 Cameron Little scored an unassisted goal at the 16:49 mark. Ice #39 Brody Zaremba answered that one shortly after, assisted by #4 Dagan Eakeh. At the 15:41 mark Helgerson scored another, bringing the score to 5-4 for the Chinooks, and invigorating the Ice spirits. However, with 5:04 left on the clock those hopes were dampened by Taite Jessen, once again making the most of an opportunity, assisted by the rock-solid Trinity Tanner, her second assist of the game.

With 4:02 left in the game, it was Tanner's turn, sinking the final goal of the game with an assist by Jessen and Tetachuk, a perfect play, illustrating how far the Chinooks have come this year. Now they play as a team, creating and capitalizing on opportunities, and mounting a solid defence as well.
Final score: Atom Chinooks 7, Raymond Ice 4
