The Senior Girls Halton Hawks basketball team hosted their Livingstone Sabre counterparts at Matthew Halton High School on the evening of January 9.
The Sabres played a fast and hard game from the beginning, and still made it seem effortless. The Hawks lost ground fast but still seemed to enjoy playing. However, their spirits visibly flagged by the middle of the second quarter.
As she did when she played for St. Michael's School, Emma Lowry proved to be an outstanding player for the Sabres, uniting the team in a relentless drive to victory and scoring 16 points for the team. Sabres' Reagan Bousquet was not far behind her with 15 points. Sabres' Jennifer Erickson, Raelyn Rutledge, Sheanna Schamber, and Ashleen Wiebe made big contributions to the scoreboard as well.

On the Hawks side, Malorie Goasdoue and Sydney Reidel were the top scorers with 10 points apiece.
In the end, the Sr. Girls Sabres proved to be the dominant force, winning easily by a score of 72 - 40. Look for them to take it all the way to Provincials this year.
