While plowing a stretch of Highway 507 near the old Coalfield School near Beaver Mines this morning, January 10, a Speed Plow owned by the Municipal District of Pincher Creek No. 9  left the road and ended up upside-down in the ditch.

White-out conditions  and an icy roadway are thought to have contributed to this accident.  The MD employee driving the plow escaped relatively unscathed according to MD Director of Operations Leo Reedyk, but took the rest of the day off to recuperate.

Damages to the vehicle are as yet undetermined, and will likely be increased as it is righted.
