Pincher Creek's Pee Wee Chinooks hosted the Picture Butte Hawks on Saturday afternoon, December 17 at the MCC Arena. Offence was the name of the game, and the Chinooks showed plenty of it.
The Chinooks lent the Picture Butte team their "away" jerseys, due to a wind-related highway mishap that delayed the arrival of the Hawks' gear. No one was hurt, to be clear, but parts of a roof rack are still out there somewhere. It made for an odd sight at times.

The play wasn't as lopsided as that score might suggest. Picture Butte played hard, right up to the end, and it was exciting hockey to watch. .
This was clearly a team effort for the Chinooks, with the emphasis on a shared drive for victory. Goal tending by Chinooks' Micah Fox Blood and Matthew Duncan was also superb. Chinooks #19 Ethan Richards deserves special note, with one goal and four assists. It was nice to see #18 Emily Wittkopf batt one in, a reward for all her hard work out there. #2 Chaz Vance scored twice with one assist. A demonstration of this team's dedication to playing as a team could be seen on the score sheet, which saw no one player dominant. Delay Mackenzie, Tyson Goodreau, Nic Jordan and Blaine McFarland all scored one apiece.

Picture Butte's #13 Landon Veluw scored all three goals for his team. #1 Austin Massien worked hard in the net, but was subjected to an constant barrage by the Chinook offence, stacking the odds against his efforts.
