Side-slope work closes lanes on Highway 879 near Foremost

Motorists can expect lane closures and speed limit reductions on Highway 879 north of Foremost.

Starting November 2, 2011 the highway will undergo side slope improvements between Foremost and the junction with Highway 3. Traffic may be reduced to alternating single lane controlled by signals and/or flag people. The speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h through the construction zone.

Construction is expected to be completed by December 15, 2011, weather permitting.

Motorists should use caution in the area and obey all signs, message boards, and flag people. Motorists are reminded that fines for speeding are doubled through construction zones when workers are present.
