Here's a compilation of some of the Halloween activity in the area, spanning events from Friday, October 28 to Monday, October 31. For obvious reasons the Voice couldn't get to everything happening around town, so we thank the citizen journalists out there who sent in photos. There were lots of great costumes out there this year, with Pirates and Princesses being perhaps the two most popular themes.
If you have Halloween photos and stories you'd like to share with our readers, send them to pinchercreekvoice@gmail.com. We will continue to update this thread for a week or so.

Carrah Walter writes:
"Every year Alaina Evans and her sister Carrah Walter get together and dress up for Halloween. This Year the oldest (Tucker) wanted to dress up as Don Cherry and so we went with that theme."
Vista Village incorporated "Shrek" and other more traditional Halloween themes into their costuming fun
Tina Webber at Vista Village writes:
"Attached is the group picture as promised. I know you asked me how this came about, others directed you to me as I was to "blame". To clarify the timeline my Care Giver Char Bruder, who has become a good friend, I jokingly called a "donkey one day (a polite way of saying ass). When questioned why a donkey I said people in ancient cultures were given animal totems because they had certain characteristics of said animal & continued on about the positive characteristics (loyal, intelligent, protective etc). I looked for a picture of a donkey to print & came upon the donkey in Shrek, which led me to a online costume store saw the costume and well, I had to get it. The rest developed from there the front window, having a Shrek theme for Halloween etc. So you see what started as a harmless joke grew..."
Yoda Taylor at Matthew Halton High School T. Lucas photo
School can be a pretty grim place, and on Halloween, it can be a graveyard. Matthew Halton High School teachers volunteered to spend time to turn the main entrance into a spooky haunted house after the students went home on Friday. This was a covert mission so that the faculty could surprise the students.
Yoda Taylor, in charge of Food Studies, seemed a little crabby, and might have been a little shellfish this Halloween.

Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village has a scary history
Staff and Faculty of Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village in Pincher Creek gave out candy to around 20 kids this Halloween. Hanging on the door outside was a sign that read "knock if u dare!" Those that did dare were met at the door by a bear that was dismembering an unfortunate human hiker, jack-o-lanternerns, spiders and ghosts. This was too much for one little trick or treater, who was consoled somewhat by the treats he recieved.
Pirates, ladybugs, ninjas, goblins, ghoulies, princesses and vampires all were welcomed, and given treats, before going off on their next candy-seeking adventure.
