It was a tremendous season for Fort Macleod's F.P. Walshe A Girls Flyers volleyball team, capped by their spectacular and hard-won win against Claresholm's WCCHS A Girls Cobras at tonight's post-season volleyball tournament, held at Pincher Creek's Matthew Halton and St. Michael's schools.
8 teams from the South Western Junior High Athletic Association (SWJHAA) participated, culminating in a first-rate nail-biter of a match between the two top teams. The Flyers took the first set 25-16. The Cobras put up a fierce effort in the second set, winning it by the narrow margin of 25-23, forcing a 15-point winner-takes-all set, which the Flyers won by a score of 15-7.
