Matthew Halton School was the site of three volleyball games tonight, October 18.

The Junior Boys "B" division Halton Hawks played against the Tatsikiisaapop (Kainai) Middle School Eagles. Kainai Coach Arnold Pomveinke was proud of his boys, saying that they worked really hard, but victory ultimately went to the Hawks in the third game, for best two out of three. This was the first win of the season for this Hawks team.

In Junior Girls "B" division action, the Halton Hawks faced the Tatsikiisaapop (Kainai) Middle School Eagles.  The Eagles flew higher than the Hawks, winning all three sets.  Hawks Assistant Coach Sydney Riedel said "They (the Hawks) have been improving a lot.  They are getting their serves over, regularly, and scored well within the games."

In more Junior Boys "B" division action, the Halton Hawks faced the St. Michael's Dragons, who took it home with the best two out of three games.
St. Mikes took it home with the best two out of three. "I thought that they played well," said St. Michael's coach Patty Zoratti.  "It was a great game."

At St. Michael's School the Junior Girls Dragons faced Piikani in two rather lacklustre efforts.  Both teams had trouble getting the ball over the net, and they forgot to include the "volley" in volleyball.  A majority of the points scored seemed to be from missed serves.  Both groups of athletes usually put on a finer showing than this.
End result, first game went to Piikani 15-25, and the second went to the Dragons 24-26, in a game that was tied several times before it's ultimate conclusion.
