Pincher Creek's Pee Wee Chinooks played host to the Cardston Thunder on Friday, October 21. While Cardston never quit trying, they were no match for the Chinooks. The scoreboard stopped working at 8-0 for Pincher Creek, in the first period. The Chinooks were "Putting on a clinic," in the words of one bystander. Chinook goalie Micah Blood spent a lonely game peering at the action on the other end of the rink. Cardston was simply outclassed.
One thing the Cardston team did demonstrate was the secret ingredient to improving, heart. At no point during the game did it seem like they were dialing it in or capitulating. It will be interesting to see how they play with a little more experience under their helmets.
