Premier Stelmach wishes Alberta well

A message from Premier Ed Stelmach

I take this opportunity to tell you what a privilege it has been to serve these past five years as Alberta’s 13th premier.


We have a wonderful province filled with amazing people and many blessings that all work together to create opportunities like nowhere else in the world. We are so fortunate to live here. And to have the chance to keep building a better Alberta for our children and our grandchildren. This includes building schools, hospitals and roads… preparing our province for the future. That’s what I worked to do as Premier.

And in those efforts, I was fortunate to be joined by communities and Albertans all over this province, all working in their own ways to make our province an even better place.

I will leave office much the way I came in: filled with admiration and respect for the people of this province, and tremendous optimism for its future.

Alberta has experienced great times – but I truly believe that our province’s best days are yet to come. And I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to serve Albertans in building that future. It has been the gift of a lifetime.
