The Cardston JV team didn't show up for their scheduled exhibition game with the Senior Pincher Creek Mustangs, forfeiting the game. The Mustangs were visibly disappointed, and would have preferred to win the game the hard way. They used the time to practice instead.
Additional submitted information:"From hearing from the Cardston coaches it was a scheduling mix-up. The game was originally planned for Thursday night and Pincher wanted to change to Wednesday. People should be aware that the coaches are trying to maintain fair competion and would like to continue to play Cardston's JV team to better our senior team. In the spirit of competion, we appreciate the cardston coaches and team and hope this error that occurred does not influence future games."

Football Alberta called the September 23 game the Senior Mustangs played against the Willow Creek Cobras their Game of the Week, saying "Pincher Creek is ranked? Well, this is new. In the decade and a half of football in Pincher Creek there hasn’t been much to cheer about and a tough schedule each year against Southern Alberta League opponents hasn’t helped. However, right out of the box this year the new look Mustangs are 2-0 and having a ball...Flash in the pan or is it a new day in the windy foothills?" (footballalberta.ab.ca)The Mustangs' recent victory over Claresholm last week, a team they could never best before, answered that question. They are currently officially ranked 4th in their tier, and rising.
The next game on the schedule for the Senior Mustangs is an away game against Chinook on Tuesday, October 11. That's a long stretch between games, hopefully they can sustain the incredible momentum they've worked so hard for.
