Wetland Ecosystem Field Studies and Video Conference
Students will visit and explore a wetland ecosystem in Beauvais Lake Provincial Park.  Using study tools provided, students apply their knowledge of pond study techniques to observe common and not so common
organisms that live in, on and around wetlands. An investigation into threats to wetland ecosystems and our SW Alberta watershed will lead to discussion on water conservation, prevention of non native plant species invasions and how protecting natural landscapes benefits everyone.

Spring Wetland Field Study
Topics include introduction to wetland creatures, life cycles, the water cycle, watershed and landscape protection.

Fall Wetland Field Study
Use data and observations to compare to the wetland ecosystem field study in the spring.  Topics include detailed lifecycles of common wetland creatures, search for young of the year northern leopard frogs, and gain inspiration to apply stewardship of wetlands to our everyday life.

One-hour Video Conference — It’s Not Easy Being Green
Join environmental educator Heidi Eijgel via video conference as she tells the story of the northern leopard frog’s re-introduction to a wetland in Beauvais Lake Provincial Park.
