Join provincial parks staff and the International Mountain Bike Association Canada for a free trail building clinic for all trail users at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, near Medicine Hat.
On October 1, participants will learn how to design, build and maintain trails in a sustainable way. The clinic takes place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Learning Centre in Elkwater. Trail building will follow from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. On October 2, crews will meet at 10 a.m. at the Learning Centre for a group bike ride. Registration opens in early September at www.imbacanada.com.
Approximately 30 minutes southeast of Medicine Hat, Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park is a year-round recreational area, consisting of a golf course, marina and three pristine lakes. The Cypress Hills are also the highest point in Canada between the Rockies and Labrador. Online campground reservations are available at www.reserve.albertaparks.ca, or by calling 1-877-537-2757.
