"I really wanted to make it seem like you were entering Hogwarts." Hardy said, pointing out the shields of the Slytherin and Gryffindor houses on the wooden doors. She wanted to add to the atmosphere for patrons attending the last blockbuster Harry Potter movie, The Deathly Hallows part 2. "It has been great, people have been posing and taking pictures."
As the Fox is a member of the Motion Picture Theater Association of Alberta, Hardy's effort is eligible for prizes. Competing in categories that take into consideration cost, ingenuity, and community involvement, theatres across Alberta are vying for $1000 and a trip to Show Canada. The contest ends August 16 and will be judged in September. Any movie that an individual theatre is showing is eligible. Made at around a $30 investment, this bit of cardboard and fun has already won the hearts of Pincher Creek moviegoers.
