Jordan Reed of Calgary is well known to locals.  He learned to ride motocross from his uncle, Pincher Creek native Bob Reed.  Bob is a mutliple medal holder for the ISDE (International Six Days Enduro) race, and an organizer for the sport as well.

Together with Kris Beer from Cactus Coulee, Lethbridge, and Isaak Paridean from the Porcupines, Jordan participated in the Idaho 400k enduro race, held June 7 and 8, 2011.

Reed Finished day one with a 4th and silver in his class. On the second day he hit his foot on a stump during the first 15 km of the 230 km course, breaking both his foot and a toe.  He perservered anyway, racing the rest of the day, and placed 1st in his class with a gold, and 1st overall in the 250-450 combined. He left Idaho City the defending "A" Champ for 2011. He ended up 8th in the E1 (pro) class, for 125 2-strokes and 250 4-strokes motors.

Due to a misunderstanding with the timing in the special tests, Paridean had an unfortunate DNF (Did Not Finish) the first day, but redeemed himself with a 5th and a silver the second day, 5th overall in his class.  Kris Beer raced a good race both days taking home 7th and silver the first day, and 5th and gold the second day, with a overall 13th and gold in combined 450 and 250. He hustled back to Calgary, hopped on a plane, and headed off to the Erzberg rodeo, the hardest enduro race in the world held in Austria.  Due to his broken foot Reed was unable to compete in this event.
"The whole team did excellent, and we can't wait to go back next year and show the americans what we got," said Reed.  "I guess I'm following in my uncle's footsteps. Pretty big steps to follow, but I think I'm the man for the job."
Reed was thankful for his sponsors' support. "I personally would like to thank Rocky Mountain Honda, Rekluse, Motovan, and Mongoose machine racing and engineering," he said.

Up next, the highly anticipated "Xtinction Hard Enduro" race, to be held in the badlands of Patricia, Alberta (near Brooks) on Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7.  Paridean is still nursing abroken wrist, but hopes to help the team out anyway on their ride to the top.  This race is reputed to be one of the finest off-road racing events of the year. Up for grabs: glory and a $5000.00 cheque.
