On Friday, May 2, Pincher Creek Co-op volunteers showed up at Pincher Creek Emergency Services to cook breakfast. "Friday breakfasts were set up as an informal get together at least 8 years ago," said Chief Dave Cox. "It's become a tradition to have a breakfast here every Friday, and anyone who is with services is welcome." RCMP, Emergency Services, Pincher Creek Bylaw, Town Services, and Parks and Recreation are a few of the organizations that attend.

"We really never know who is going to show up," Cox explained. On average they set up to cook for 10 people. "It's a chance to sit and socialize, and it's a good group exercise that allows us to just talk to each other. It builds relationships."  It also allows the different organizations to have contact with each other on a casual informal basis while not in an emergency situation.

Different people and sometimes even different organizations take turns making the meal and cleaning up after. They charge $5.00 per plate, and that helps cover the cost of buying the next meal. "Today, the Co-op volunteered to come and cook for us. It's kind of a first. It's kind of nice to have them donate, and volunteer to do the cooking. I think it's a tribute to Billi (Co-op Bakery-Deli Manager Billi Rigaux), who is friends with Michelle (Emergency Services Staff Member Michelle Stuart)," explained Cox.  "Billi has been down to breakfast before, so I think she is kind of a driving force behind this."
