Windy Slopes unveils renovated ER at Pincher Creek Health Centre

Chris Davis - Windy Slopes Health Foundation (WSHF) and Alberta Health Services (AHS) held a special celebration on October 6 to celebrate the opening of the newly renovated emergency department (ED) at Pincher Creek Health Centre. Key donors, dignitaries, hospital staff, and members of the public were invited to tour the ED and indulge in cake and refreshments after opening remarks from Dennis Robin of Windy Slopes and a ribbon cutting ceremony. 

Donna Schauerte (WSHF Chair) and  Jordan Koch (WSHF/Site Manager) cut the ribbon, which was held at one end by Teri Myhre, who is the Alberta Health Services Senior Operating Officer - Acute Care West.

The renovation project had a price tag of $650,000. Approximately $450,000 of that came from WSHF fundraising efforts, and another $200,000 came from the Government of Alberta’s Infrastructure Maintenance Program (IMP).

The ED space has been re-imagined to improve comfort, safety and security for patients and their families.  It includes a glass partition, a new registration desk, new sinks, a new housekeeping room and the four ED patient rooms have been expanded.
