Peewee Chinooks tie Bow Island Rebels

Peewee Chinooks vs Bow Island Rebels
The game between the Pincher Creek Peewee Chinooks and the Bow Island Rebels held November 23 at the MCC arena was well matched, right down to the 2 - 2 at the end. These are two teams that can skate, and both played like they wanted to win. One thing that was obvious was that the Rebels appeared to be a young team. Rebel Parent Nathan Hofmann explained that the team is actually an Atom team that "was doing extremely well in seeding," and has been placed to play at the Peewee B level.

Both goalies were tested, each facing strong and repeated offensive strategies. That the score only made it to 2 for either team was a testament to Chinooks Wes Krampe and Rebels Bodee Weiss. At one point there was a breakaway play that raced from the face off that was taken by #12 Rebel Roman Cherniak across the arena in a strong breakaway to hit the post. The rebound was then scooped by Chinooks #4 Connor Stuckey who took it back to face Weiss, but did not get it past him. In the first period the score was Rebels leading 0 - 1, the end of the 2 they still held the lead 1 - 2, and the Chinooks levelled the score to 2 - 2 with 18:45 minutes left to play. Neither team gave an inch. Trinity Tanner scored both of the Chinook goals, while Brinley Degenstein scored both Rebels' goals with one assist from Kai Uchikura.
