Alberta Historical Resources Foundation visits Pincher Creek and area

Alberta Historical Resources Foundation (AHRF) members were in Pincher Creek on Friday, September 12, and Saturday, September 13 to attend the AHRF Annual General Meeting.  Approximately 20 people from the foundation toured Heritage Acres, the Lebel Mansion, Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village (KBPV), and saw points of interest from the Municipal Heritage Partnership Program (MHPP).  The MHPP was a heritage survey that was conducted in 2010 - 2013 which was used to find, research, catalogue and register historic resources and primary heritage buildings in residential, commercial and industrial sectors in Pincher Creek and area.  

Meet and Greet and round table discussions

The AHRF assists heritage sites and projects across all of Alberta with expertise, guidance and funding. Diane Burt-Stuckey was delighted that they chose Pincher Creek to host this years AGM. "It was wonderful that they came down, and could see more of the history of our area," said Burt-Stuckey, who explained that the AHRF has helped Pincher Creek and area in a number of projects over many years that help preserve history. Members from Heritage Acres, KBPV, Reeve Brian Hammond, Mayor Don Anderberg, volunteers from the MPHH Heritage Survey and Mapping Project, and  others had the chance to meet with people on the AHRF share stories, and discuss both past and future projects to help preserve the history of this area and all across Alberta.
