Pincher Creek's Vista Village Senior Center held their annual Tea and Bazaar on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 23.
There was a crowd of people browsing the merchandise at the bazaar tables in Vista Village after the doors were opened to an eager public. A variety of items were offered including baked goods, quilts, Christmas ornaments, candles and assorted handicrafts. There were some beautiful items up for the silent auction, and following the tea social there was a draw. Ten residents from Crestview Lodge came to visit and to be part of the festivities as well.

A life-long friendship - Agnes Mitchell and Dorthy Hammond |
It was a lovely day for friends and family to reunite and enjoy a bit of shopping and excitement before relaxing with a fine tea. The dining area was filled with people chatting and laughing. Dorothy Hammond and Agnes Mitchell have been friends for a long time. "We started grade one together," said Hammond. The two started school in Pincher Creek approximately 90 years ago. Selma Tustian was sitting with her fiend Rose Johnson. They've been friends for years, and Selma will be celebrating her 101 birthday in the spring. Anne Judd was visiting with her granddaughter Tori Bailer and great-granddaughter Lexi.

"It was a very good turnout," said Activity Coordinator Melanie Walker. She was overwhelmed by the excellent response from the community and the donations that came in for the event. "This couldn't happen without all the support we have gotten. Everyone that volunteered, all the donations we have received." Walker want to thank all the people who helped to make it the success that it is. "All the money goes to resident's activity programming," she explained.
