A series of upper disturbances from the Pacific will generate significant snowfall amounts in Jasper this weekend. 5 cm of snow has been reported so far in the Jasper town site with up to 20 cm of snowfall expected by Saturday morning. Snow may taper off by Saturday afternoon but another disturbance is expected to bring further accumulations for Sunday.
Strong west to southwest winds of 60 km/h gusting to 80 will continue through today. Wind gusts up to 100 km/h are possible until this evening.
